What the 50 KB target means for your image

A successful compression result is at or below the target. If quality reduction at the original dimensions is not enough, the compressor can reduce pixel dimensions while keeping their proportions. Very small limits can make the image look softer or smaller, and some files may not be able to reach the limit.

If a supported JPEG or WebP file is already under the target and you keep its existing format, it can be returned without recompression. Choosing another output format still requires encoding a new file.

JPEG and WebP use lossy compression. When a small file limit is required, visual quality may need to decrease to remove image data.

Can the 50 KB target change image dimensions?
