How to use this tool
Creates a JPG from the main still photo in a HEIC or HEIF file. Your original file stays unchanged.
- 1Choose a HEIC or HEIF photo, or drop it into the tool.
- 2Wait for conversion, then check the JPG preview.
- 3Download the JPG. Keep your original HEIC if you may need it later.
Best for
Photos from an iPhone or another device that need to open in an app or form that accepts JPG.
Privacy
Your browser decodes the photo and creates the JPG on your device. The photo is not uploaded to our servers. Read our privacy policy
Limitations
- One file at a time, up to 20 MB and 24 megapixels, with neither edge above 8,192 pixels.
- Only the main still photo is converted. Live Photo motion, additional images, HDR data, and source metadata are not copied to the JPG.
- JPG uses lossy compression. Colors may differ from the original HDR or wide-color photo. Transparent areas become white.
Questions
Can I convert HEIF as well as HEIC?
Yes, if the file uses a HEVC image encoding supported by the decoder. An unreadable or unsupported file shows an error instead of a download.
Will this convert a Live Photo?
It converts the main still photo only. The JPG does not include motion or sound.
Does this keep the photo's dimensions?
The JPG uses the decoded main photo's dimensions, including its stored rotation or crop. The tool does not resize it to reduce file size.
What if my photo is too large?
Export it as JPG from your device's Photos app instead. This browser tool limits photo size to reduce memory use.
